Towards A More Inclusive Jamaica (TAMIJ) is a documentary project founded by journalist and advocate Marion Myrie. Focused on raising awareness of the challenges faced by persons with disabilities in Jamaica, TAMIJ highlights systemic barriers and amplifies voices often overlooked. Since its launch in 2021, TAMIJ has gained international recognition and continues to advocate for change through powerful storytelling.

Marion Myrie, the Managing Director of Towards A More Inclusive Jamaica (TAMIJ), is a seasoned journalist passionate about social change and advocacy. With a background in radio journalism and authored print articles, Marion's career evolved into public service, where she worked on the Disabilities Technical Cooperation Project at Jamaica's Ministry of Social Security. This experience deeply informed her commitment to advancing social causes. Marion holds a Master's degree in Communication for Social and Behaviour Change (Distinction) from the University of the West Indies, where her research, Media and Disability Culture in Jamaica, laid the foundation for TAMIJ. Encouraged by her academic supervisor to continue advocating for meaningful social change, Marion's focus shifted to addressing the challenges faced by persons with disabilities in Jamaica. Her educational and professional journey has earned her recognition, including film festival selections for TAMIJ and a nomination for Young Journalist of the Year by the Press Association of Jamaica. Towards A More Inclusive Jamaica (TAMIJ) is a groundbreaking documentary project dedicated to highlighting the stories and challenges faced by the disability community in Jamaica. The project was established by Marion Myrie, drawing on her expertise in journalism and social change and her extensive research on disability culture. Since its inception, TAMIJ has evolved into a robust platform that explores the barriers within Jamaica's built, attitudinal, and legal environments that hinder the full participation of persons with disabilities. The documentary series, launched in 2021, has already gained international recognition, with multiple selections at prestigious film festivals. TAMIJ's mission is to raise awareness, advocate for systemic change, and empower individuals with disabilities by sharing their experiences. Through a series of episodes, TAMIJ aims to educate the public, advocate for inclusive policies, and create lasting social impact.
